So we didn't partake of the Deep Fried Coca-Cola. Still, three hours and well bloated bellies later, the evening was a success.

Krishelle was particularly strategic in her game plan. First it was roasted corn (number 1) - naturally. Without missing a beat, it was chicken kebab (on skewer, not pita, for the latter is simply a filler). Genius! This maneuver made room for the funnel cake with chocolate syrup and icing sugar. Yum! Then it was roasted corn (number 2), deep fried twinkie, finished off with a deep fried onion blossom, and washed down with freshly squeezed lemonade.

Not to be outdone, Kelly and I shared in all of the above, except the twinkie, instead substituting for a deep fried Milky Way chocolate bar :-)
Jessica was bee-lining for anything salty and savoury - I approve of the Italian sausage and grilled onions! Something about it just warms the belly. And to Jessica's credit, she did have some of the funnel cake.

Thank goodness we only do this once a year. And unlike last year, we spared ourselves from viewing the freak shows like "the world's smallest woman (20 inches tall)" or "the world's largest rat (36 pounds)".
And before our evening came to an end, we stayed to watch the fireworks for a few minutes, being mindful of the traffic and crowds and thus leaving a little bit early to get to our car. We have certainly learned a few things about the State Fair, and this year, our game plan was executed superbly.
