Last Friday we had dinner the Mr and Mrs Nourani. Like my parents, the Nouranis are "empty nesters" with eldest son, Sana, away studying at Harvard, second child, Vesal, in college studying at UNC and busy with many youth and college devotionals, and youngest daughter, Parisa, on a (Baha'i) year-of-service in Costa Rica.
So instead, we enjoyed a more intimate evening with the parents - I would have used the word "quiet" but I almost forgot how fussy Ethan was that evening because we took him from his own bed and it was close to his feeding time. But once mama took care of him, even Ethan was enjoying himself, sleeping in the arms of others (of course) :-p
Dinner was Ghormeh Sabzi - delicious! Thanks, Mrs. Nourani for the short-notice invite. Dinner was awesome.
For dessert, we delighted in a double chocolate bunt cake with chocolate upon chocolate... ok, so I don't know the exact name, but the cake was so "sinful" (as Kelly's mom says), that if the cake were cut into 30 slices, each slice would contain 220 calories! Yee haw :-)
A lovely evening that my parents truly enjoyed.
