At the beginning of this month, it was announced by the U.S. immigration services that over 150,000 applications had been received on the first day, for only 65,000 visas. The result: all (cap subject) applications were entered into a system where by a computer generated lottery would determine which applications would be given consideration. The good news was that after all the applications were entered onto their system, immigration services revealed that the numbers subject to the visa cap was closer to 120,000 and so chances for being randomly selected were 50:50 (better than the 1:3 as originally projected). Yesterday, our attorneys shared the great news that not only Kelly's visa(s) were approved (hers were not subject to the same cap as she has obtained all qualifications/education/training here in the U.S.) and that my petition was selected by the lottery! Woo hoo!! Of course, this does not yet mean that mine too will be approved, though it does mean it will be seen and given consideration! What luck :-)
Relieved and ever more hopeful, I await news of approval (God willing).
