Ethan is not actually 2 months old until tomorrow at 2:08am (coincidentally Kelly and my 2 year wedding anniversary!). But today he had his 2-month doctor's visit. Poor Ethan, he had 6 vaccines in total: PPV (Pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine), Hib (Haemophilus Influenzae Type b vaccine), Rotavirus vaccine, Polio vaccine, HepB (Hepatitis B vaccine), and DTap (Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertusis). The Rotavirus vaccine was taken orally, which Ethan did not like at all and practically spat it all up. The others were administered in 3 shots.
Well, good news is that Ethan now weighs 10 lbs 0oz. or 4,555 grams which puts him on the growth curve for boys (15th percentile for weight). He is 22 inches long (55.2 cm) which is in the 10th percentile for height.
Kelly is now back at work, so mom and I took Ethan to the clinic.
This morning before Ethan's doc appointment I drove my parents to the airport, and they should now be back in Toronto. Traffic on I-40 was not down to single-lane as predicted on last night's evening news, and so mom and dad were well over 3 hours early for their flight. Sorry! But at least there were no worries re missing flights etc.. :-)
Next time dad sees Ethan will likely be in July when Kelly and I visit them in Toronto. Mom is coming back in 10 days (December 1st) to be with us for 2 months which we are very much looking forward to. And of course Adeline, Sharon, Carmel and Ellie and Babak are all booked for December visits to see Ethan.
